Renovations

Found your dream property but the house isn’t quite what you’re after? Or it’s too small for your growing family?

We work with many clients to transform their home into something amazing! Two of the biggest renovations requested we see is for bathrooms and kitchens. We love seeing an average bathroom turned into a luxe haven or a small kitchen overhauled to an entertainer’s delight!

We’re skilled in both single and two-storey extensions, along with façade and exterior upgrades. We can even assist with heritage restorations along with studio or commercial space builds.

The building process.

01. Initial Contact

After you have been in touch with JDG Constructions, a questionnaire will be forwarded for you to complete. This is important so we can get a better understanding of things like the size and type/style of home, the budget, the location, if you have plans available and the timeline you wish to have the project completed in.

02. Consultation

Once we have received your completed questionnaire, the team will review your project and shortly after a consultation is booked to discuss your project. Jason will walk you through the scope of works, budget and deliverables for the job. This is a great time for questions on different aspects of your build or renovation as the consultation will be used to discover and learn of all the elements to be scoped in the JDG Comprehensive Quote.

03. JDG Comprehensive Quote

As you can understand, quoting a custom home build is comprehensive and takes many days to complete including compiling sub-contractor quotes, costing materials and options you may have requested and delivering this in a large document which outlines all facets of the build. This process incurs a fee commensurate with the amount of work required to prepare this document.

Whilst many builders do not charge for this service, we believe that to ensure that you know exactly what is being quoted for and to avoid any miscommunication on the deliverables, we feel that the fee is a necessary part of the process to ensure that we cover everything in the detail it requires. Our quotes are definitely not a two page document and the detail/s it covers is in line with the high attention to detail we give your project during the construction phase.

If the project proceeds, we take the amount paid towards the preparation of the JDG Comprehensive Quote document from the first invoice. In summary, if the project proceeds, the amount is refunded from your construction invoice.

04. The Green Light

Upon acceptance of the JDG Comprehensive Quote Jason will work with you to create a build timeline and will begin scheduling all aspects of the project.

A building contract will be prepared and upon being signed by all parties, we will issue a deposit invoice and start construction after the appropriate council plans and other regulatory bodies have issued approvals.

05. The Build

Upon commencement of the build, Jason will keep you updated and manage the trades on site and the supply of materials. We go the extra mile and treat our clients with respect and your home like our own. We strive for the very best result and motivate those around us to give it their best. We want to stand back and be proud to say that we would live in that home.

We make it seem easy — by applying our experience, nous, expertise, and empathy, we relieve the stress from our clients and make it an enjoyable journey — after all, you don't build a luxury custom home every day!

Once the build has been completed (and throughout the build), the team will ensure the site is left clean and tidy, with all excess rubbish and materials removed.

06. Handover

Upon the completion of construction and cleaning, Jason will meet you at you new home and show you through any details and items of note. He will answer any questions you may have and after checking all aspects of the build, the home will be handed over to you.

07. Post Completion

Our commitment to you doesn’t finish when we hand over the keys. We will attend to ensure there are no maintenance issues you have experienced and perform a check of the home to ensure there has been no damage caused by the house settling.

We perform this check after 90 days and again at 12 months after completion because we know that a house needs to be monitored through all four seasons before we can we give it the final tick. Any concerns or queries you may have can be voiced at this time (or any other time!) and we will ensure that everything is performing as it should.
